Thursday Night preview: Houston @ Detroit

This will be good.
Detroit are looking a strong but weak team. They can win games, but they can also lose them as well. there bottom of the NFC North at the moment but lets be honest, thats one of the best divisions in the NFL. There 4 - 6  and have had some close losses this year. We then go to Houston. Man what a team! There 9 - 1 now and have reason to say there the best team in the NFL. Though last week they almost lost a close game against Jacksonville! Bringing it into OT it seemed that Jacksonville had won but Houston stopped them and got a touchdown on a screen play. Most interestingly these are both good teams that haven't won a Super Bowl, sorry, played in a Super Bowl. Sadly Detroit won't make the playoffs but it's almost definite that Houston will make the Divisional round. Detroit have some strength in their team including a strong arm from Stafford and Megatron.
No not him!

That's it

I actually expect Detroit to play well in this game, They've got capability to win and they can get points when they need to. The defense I feel will struggle against Matt Schaub's offense. A lot of times this year Schaub has appeared as strong as possible. He's even lost part of his ear! What does that tell you? He's gotten much better at trick plays such as Play Action. Especially 'The Bootleg.' Incase your unsure of what this is I'll explain it
So here we have the basic route and what I find most intelligent about this play is here we have the Fullback cutting in and making an inside block. The Guard cuts across and blocks whoever is trying to get round the tackle, for instance a linebacker, Will be cut off by an unexpected move. The blocking has been put in a position were the defense is virtually convinced its a running play, especially with the Fullback cutting inside at the same time, but one thing you notice about all the blocks is there forcing the defense to the offense's right. This allows the QB to go to his left having a completely clear gap to the left WR. Its a useful way of getting a first down or even a touchdown, an extremely clever play.
Houston played this so much against Chicago when I watched the Sunday night game a couple of weeks ago. It literally mind f *cks the Defense. If you don't have this on Madden, I suggest you create it.
               1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / T
Houston  3  13  7  10 33
Detroit   10  3  14  3  30
